The latest update to LinkShare brings additional bugfixes and finishes updates to themes, but also adds new features regarding allowing/disallowing tracking.
When a user of LinkShare creates a link that enables tracking, any visitor will be asked if they would like to allow tracking (which the prompt will inform them what will be tracked), or if they would like to opt out. To reduce users who do not wish to be tracked being asked over and over, we've included the ability to observe Do Not Tracking headers including Sec-GPC and legacy DNT headers. When these headers signal that you do not wish to be tracked - we won't prompt you and we'll honor your request, moving you forward to the desired destination of your link or object.
Additionally, on the user end, we've updated how we show opted out requests. If a user has specifically clicked Do Not Track on the prompt (and does not have DNT headers being transmitted), we will show this as "Opted-out of tracking: Requested Do Not Track when prompted". If DNT headers have been observed, we'll instead show "Opted-out of tracking: Do Not Track headers observed".
